About Us

The SODIS Foundation is an independent non-profit organization that believes everyone has a right to safe water and good health.  Moreover, the Foundation thinks that major improvements in health can happen economically and be done sustainably.  SODIS tries to encourage healthy behaviors that innovatively use resources—whether by recycling plastic bottles, using solar light to disinfect water, or by optimizing use of existing water resources.  SODIS works collaboratively with public and private institutions to help get health to the people who need it most.

Bolivia, September 2009

The SODIS Foundation participated in an informative workshop entitled "Knowledge for Decentralized Ecological Sanitation in Bolivia."  The Foundation was involved in sharing its experiences with the members of CODESAB and other actors working in basic sanitation in Cochabamba.
